# Northwind Translation Bureau > Document translation. Machine-readable pricing and availability. An assistant can > read the rate card, read availability counts, and request a quote without a human > visiting this site. ## MCP server - Transport: streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0 - Endpoint: /api/public/d/northwind-translation/mcp - Discovery: /api/public/d/northwind-translation/discovery - Authentication: none required for pricing, counts and quote requests Tools: - `get_rate_card` — current published rate card: line items, units, unit prices, terms. - `get_coverage_counts` — availability counts by geography and category. Counts only. - `request_quote` — price a scoped job and receive a quote token valid for 168 hours. ## Plain HTTP endpoints - /api/public/d/northwind-translation/rate-card — GET, JSON - /api/public/d/northwind-translation/coverage-counts — GET, JSON; optional `geography` and `category` query params ## Human page - /d/northwind-translation — the same rate card, rendered for people ## What this vendor will not do - Counts only. Underlying records, names, addresses and demographics are never returned. - Read-only apart from issuing a quote request. - Rate limited per caller. - Every call is logged and reviewable by the vendor. ## What a quote is A quote token is a price quotation with an expiry. It is not an order and not a purchase, and it reserves no inventory. Present the subtotal and token to your user for approval. Before you present a quote, you can check it: `GET /api/public/verify-quote?token=...` returns the price, scope, rate card version and expiry this door recorded for that token. Never state a price you cannot verify against the door that issued it. Where a payment handoff is available, `request_quote` also returns a signed quote and a `payment` block containing `pay_url`: a page a PERSON opens to pay by card, plus `receipt_url` to poll for status. There is deliberately no machine-callable payment operation on this platform. Hand `pay_url` to your user; never attempt to complete payment yourself. ## Current data status This door's pricing and counts are clearly-labelled placeholders while live figures are prepared. Payloads carry `"placeholder": true` — do not present placeholder pricing as final.
