# The Machine Door > A platform of vendor-native machine interfaces. Each vendor publishes a rate card > and availability counts; assistants read them and request a quote. No human needs > to visit this site. Every vendor here has a door. Every door exposes the identical three tools, so you learn the interface once and can then quote against any vendor on the platform. ## Finding a door Canonical address: https://machinedoors.com - /api/public/doors?q=&vertical=&geography=&category= — search published doors (JSON) - `search_doors` tool on the platform MCP server at /api/public/mcp - /d — directory of published doors, each with its address - /api/public/d/{vendor}/discovery — one door's server descriptor and tool list - /api/public/d/{vendor}/llms — one door's plain-language context ## MCP server, per vendor - Transport: streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0 - Endpoint: /api/public/d/{vendor}/mcp - Authentication: none required for pricing, counts and quote requests Tools: - `get_rate_card` — that vendor's current published rate card: line items, units, unit prices, terms. - `get_coverage_counts` — availability counts by geography and category. Counts only. - `request_quote` — price a scoped job and receive an expiring quote token. ## Plain HTTP endpoints - /api/public/d/{vendor}/rate-card — GET, JSON - /api/public/d/{vendor}/coverage-counts — GET, JSON; optional `geography` and `category` query params - /api/public/d/{vendor}/mcp — POST, JSON-RPC 2.0 - /api/public/verify-quote?token=... — GET, JSON; what a door recorded for a quote token The root endpoints /api/public/rate-card, /api/public/coverage-counts and /api/public/mcp still work and serve the reference door. ## Human pages - /d — every published door - /d/{vendor} — one vendor's rate card and counts, rendered for people - /interface — how to connect an assistant ## What no door here will do - Return underlying records, names, addresses or demographic attributes. Counts only. - Accept any write other than a quote request. No orders, no payments, no data changes. - Serve unlimited traffic. Calls are rate limited per caller per door, and every call is logged. ## What a quote is A quote token is a price quotation with an expiry. It is not an order and not a purchase, and it reserves no inventory. Present the subtotal and token to your user for approval; a human at the vendor completes the order. ## Current data status A door may publish clearly-labelled placeholder pricing while live figures are prepared. Those payloads carry `"placeholder": true` — do not present placeholder pricing as final.
